William C.
Kurilla
Jul 2, 1936 — Feb 13, 2021
William C. Kurilla, 84, of Walnutport, passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2021. Born July 2, 1936 in Coaldale, he was a son of the late Michael and Mary A. (Stec) Kurilla. Bill worked at Bristol Myers Squibb as a Machinist for many years. He honorably served our country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion Post 899. Bill was a parishioner of St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Bill was always full of life and young at heart. He loved his Polka music and was an avid Polka dancer since he was 14. Bill was well known as the lollipop man, as he would hand out Tootsie lollipops to everyone he knew and whoever he met; he loved the smile he would get in return. He enjoyed making all kinds of DVDs and handing them out to anyone and everyone. Even if you did not want one, he made sure you took it, and he would tell you to watch it. When he was not making DVDs, he loved to feed the birds and other animals that ventured into his yard. He was fond of saying, "you are what you eat," and always insisted eating from the garden; that did not stop him from eating many cookies and deserts. He loved his family and took pride in all his grandchildren. He truly cared about anyone he knew and will be sorely missed by all.
He is survived by: daughters, Sharen, wife of Christopher Anderson, and Kimberly, wife of Robert Ragozine; son, William Kurilla and Marianne Kurilla; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Bill was predeceased by his 8 siblings.
