William S. Hillegass, III, 76, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. William and his wife, Evelyn M. (Dahlke), celebrated 53 years of marriage on April 26 ^th . Born June 15, 1945, in Cambridge, England, he was a son of the late William S. Hillegass, Jr. and Daphne (Kenzie) Nowak. William worked at Bethlehem Steel as a crane operator for many years. After retiring, he became a school bus driver for the Whitehall-Coplay School District. William honorably served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He enjoyed collecting coins and watching NASCAR and local dirt track racing.

In addition to his wife, William is survived by his daughters, Terry Kovalchik and her husband, Joseph, Tracy Hillegass, and Tammy Snyder and her husband, Scott; grandchildren, Julianne, Kyle, Michael, Jeremy, and Andrew; great-granddaughter, Emma; brother, Terry and his wife, Robin; and sister, Daphne and her husband Roy.

Services: Family and friends may gather on Tuesday, Oct. 19 ^th from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21 ^st St., Northampton. The family would like to request that facial coverings be worn at all times.
