Obituary

William Car, 77, of Whitehall, PA, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Poland on March 5, 1943, he was the son of the late John and Maria (Kochan) Car. He was the husband of Teresa (Samko) Car with whom he shared 54 years of marriage this past October 15, 2020. William came to America in 1964 and was proud to become an American citizen. He worked hard at numerous jobs, more recently as a LANTA Bus Driver and then in retirement as a Parkland School District Bus Driver. He lived the American Dream and a giving life. He loved God, his country and his family. He enjoyed nature, fishing, hunting, traveling, wild mushroom-picking and making pierogis at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church. His generosity touched so many hearts. His joys in life were getting together with family and friends, sharing food and drink, and telling stories about his amazing life experiences. He will be greatly missed by many.

Surviving along with his wife, Teresa, are his children: daughter, Christina Car Gigler and her husband Christopher, daughter, Alina Perinotti and her husband Thomas, son, William A. Car and his partner Patty VanAnden, and daughter, Kasia Ritter and her husband Craig. He leaves a legacy for his five grandchildren: Antonio and Franco Perinotti, Katie and Andrew Gigler and Malina Ritter. He is also survived by his 4 brothers: Michael, John, Walter and Miroslaw Car, many nieces and nephews, life-long friends, and good neighbors. He will be missed by his beloved dog, Sadie.

In the interest of safety due to the pandemic, the Divine Liturgy will be for the family. Family and friends may join the family for a graveside service at Saint John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Parish Cemetery, Main Street, Northampton at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. Social distancing and masks will be required. A celebration of William's wonderful life will be planned in the future.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be presented to St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Church, 1343 Newport Ave., Northampton, PA 18067. Online condolences may be submitted above.
