Ward R. Crozier, 79, of Lehighton passed away peacefully Friday, May 5, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Dorothy (Metz) Crozier and they celebrated 56 years of marriage on March 26th. Born February 2, 1938 in Wilson Boro, he was the son of the late Stephen and Rachael (Ward) Crozier.
He honorably served his country in the United States Army. Ward owned and operated several service stations before starting his promoting career at Harmony Speedway in the early 70's. He was a major icon in the Nazareth, Dorney Park and Mahoning Valley Speedway, which he resurrected in 1988.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, son, Ward Jr., daughters, Betty, wife of Barry Christman, Judy Pursell and her companion, Dave Crout, Dottie, wife of Dave Farkas, son in law, Richard Pursell, 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 4 nephews.
Services: A public viewing will be Tuesday, May 9th from 4 - 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday 10 - 11:00 a.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton, PA 18067. At this time, family and friends will have an opportunity to share special memories.
