Walter Strongowski, 74, of Whitehall, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 11, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Rebecca S. (Hochmiller) Strongowski and they would have celebrated 55 years of marriage on November 25 ^th . Born October 19, 1947, in Allentown, he was the son of the late Julius J. and Elizabeth L. (Nederostek) Strongowski. Walter worked for Conrail as a trainman and conductor from 1969 – 1996. He was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Northampton. Walter honorably served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. He enjoyed camping, gardening, fishing, and hunting in his spare time, but he was especially proud of spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors: wife, Rebecca; son, David and companion, Lisa Maurey; daughter, Kim Brown and her husband, Michael; son, Scott; 2 grandchildren, Rachel Perl and Austin Brown; 2 great-grandchildren, Julian Perl and Quinn Perl; 2 sisters, Janette Wagner, wife of Larry, and Rita Deutsch, wife of Ronald; several nieces and nephews.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 19 ^th at 11:00 a.m. in Assumption BVM Church, 22 ^nd and Washington Ave., Northampton. Family and friends may call Saturday 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21 ^st St., Northampton. Burial with military honors will follow in the Assumption BVM Parish Cemetery.
