Walter J. "Tinker" Jandrositz, 92, of Easton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 15, 2023, in St. Luke's Hospital-Anderson. Walter and his wife, Jean A. (Kelly), would have celebrated 70 years of marriage on Sept. 5th. Born July 25, 1930, in Nazareth, he was a son of the late Charles Yandresitz and Teresia (Bauer) Urban Yandresitz. Walter was a purchasing agent and sales manager at R&R Provision Co. for 30 years. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force with the 7350th Air Force Base Group at Tempelhof Air Base during the Korean Conflict. Walter earned the medal for human action for his participation in the Berlin Airlift. He was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantel Roman Catholic Church. He was also an active member of the Easton American Legion Post 9, Bath American Legion Post 470, and Holy Family Club. Walter was a 3rd Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus, Easton Council 345. Walter was an avid bowler and enjoyed participating in a league at Bardon Lanes and Holy Family.
In addition to his wife, Walter is survived by daughters, Janis Galitzeck, and Janine Jandrositz and her husband, Robert H. Shaw Jr.; grandsons, Aaron and Zachary Galitzeck; great grandson Henry, brother, Richard Yandresitz; and sister, Hilda Frisch. Walter was predeceased by brothers, John Urban, Adolph Urban, Frank, Joseph, Edward, and Charles Yandresitz; and sisters, Emma Weber, Stella Gladnick, Louise Lorenz, Anna Yandresitz, Tessie Betz, Florence Keifer, and Agnes Schneider.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 21st at 10:30 a.m. in the church, 4049 Hartley Ave., Easton. Family and friends may gather on Friday morning from 9:00 to 10:15 a.m. in the church. Interment with military honors will follow in Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Bethlehem.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be presented to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516, in loving memory of Walter. Online condolences may be offered below.
