Vincent J. Grabarits, 88, of Treichlers, passed away at home on November 20, 2023. Born March 21, 1935 in Northampton, he was a son of the late Vincze and Anna (Sundheimer) Grabarits. He was married to Rose D. (Dischinat) Grabarits for 66 years before her passing in 2021. Vince was a graduate of Parkland High School; was employed for Western Electric for 34 years and worked at Two Guys Deli for 12 years. He was a member of Queenship of Mary Church, and attended St. Nicholas Church, Walnutport. He was a life member of the Hungarian Hall where he served as bartender, party coordinator, and alley manager for many years. Even though he was born in Northampton, Vince grew up in Laury's Station where he played baseball and basketball at various places in the neighborhood. He ran casino bus trips for 30 years, enjoyed polka dancing at the Coplay Saugerbund and volunteered for MusikFest. Vince was a member of various social clubs throughout the area; including various bowling leagues at different clubs, where he got two 300-games and an 800 series. He was also in several softball leagues for 50 years.
Survivors: son, Michael Grabarits and wife Marianne; daughters, Carol Ann Thomason and husband Keith, Janet Sforza and husband Michael; granddaughters, Kristi and Sabrina; step-granddaughters, Chelsey Henson and Sarah Bachman; 6 step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Dergosits; nieces, Margaret and Patricia; and his beloved cats, Katie, Sweet pea, Benjamin, Molly, and Rosie. He was predeceased by triplet grandchildren, Jonathan, Lindsey, and Joshua.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday November 28th at 11:30 a.m. in Queenship of Mary Church, 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton. Family and friends may call on Monday 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton, and on Tuesday from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. in the church. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery. Online condolences may be submitted to www.reichelfuneralhome.com .
