Obituary

Thomas Michael Pignataro came into the world on June 2, 1976. His difficult birth was challenging for two young first-time parents, Tom and Lisa Pignataro, who were told Tommy's life would not be what they expected. In the 45 years to follow, Tommy brought immeasurable joy, love, and compassion to all who knew him, and exceeded all expectations of happiness a family could hope for. His sisters, Karen and Jessica, learned all the important lessons in life from Tommy: patience, understanding, and not to take yourself too seriously. They take comfort in knowing Tommy will be watching over them, like any big brother would.

Tommy loved many things- ice cream, music, and a good catastrophe - especially if someone were to make a clumsy move, trip, or fall. Tommy had a contagious smile and infectious laugh which could light up any room.  Mercy Special Learning Center was one of Tommy's favorite places to be. For 33 years he was cared for by some of the most special people he's ever known and made many wonderful friends.

Tommy lived a very full and happy life. Many memorable family vacations, parties, and school events brought Tommy so much joy and happiness. Tommy was a gift to all around him and we take comfort in knowing all the love he shared and received.

When Tommy left our world on April 24, Divine Mercy Sunday, he was welcomed into heaven by his great-grandparents, John and Ann Harris, grandparents, Oresto and Olivette Pignataro, grandmother, Ann Provenzano, godmother, Betty Held, many great-aunts and great-uncles, and some of his best friends from Mercy Special Learning Center.

Tommy leaves behind so many friends and family who loved and cherished him. Parents, Tom and Lisa (Northampton, PA); sister, Karen and husband Jason (Coopersburg, PA); sister, Jessica and husband Joshua (Catasauqua, PA); and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and classmates.
