Theresa A. (Tessie) Filipovits, 88, of Northampton passed away suddenly Friday, November 4, 2016 at home. She was the wife of John S. (Screppy) Filipovits and they celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on October 18, 2016. Born September 28, 1928 in Northampton, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Mulzet) Geosits. Tessie worked at the Universal Pants Factory for many years. She was a member of Queenship of Mary Church, Northampton. Tessie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her 3 grandsons. She was a member of the St Peter & Paul Hungarian Society and very active in the bowling leagues.

Survivors: husband, Screppy, daughter, Susan, wife of Douglas Hall, 3 grandsons; Philip, Daniel and Derek, sister, Mary Filipovits, and several nieces and nephews. Tessie was predeceased by a brother, John.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 8th at 10:30 a.m. in Queenship of Mary Church, 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton. Family and friends may call Monday 6 - 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday 9 - 10:00 a.m. in Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton. Burial will follow in the Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery.
