Sylvia Marth, 81, of Whitehall, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest. Sylvia and her loving husband, John F. Marth, Jr., celebrated 61 years of marriage together. Born September 5, 1939 in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late Charles J. and Helen C. (Buchina) Rockovits. Sylvia was employed at the former Hess's Distribution Center for many years. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Stiles. Sylvia was an avid Mets fan and Duke basketball fan.

In addition to her husband, Sylvia is survived by her children, John F., III and his wife, Christine, Jeffrey D., and Janine E. Egan and her husband, Timothy J.; grandchildren, Brandon, Steven, Paige, and Lauren; brother, William J. Rockovits and his wife, Veronica; sister, Carol Leicht and her husband, William; and several nieces and nephews. Sylvia was predeceased by her son, Christopher.

Services. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Feb. 3 ^rd at 10:30 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, 3024 S. Ruch St., Whitehall. Family and friends may call Wednesday from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. in the church. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Those in attendance will kindly be requested to practice social distancing and wear a face cover. Arrangements are under the direction of Reichel Funeral Home, Northampton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be presented to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Memorials Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in loving memory of Sylvia. Online condolences may be offered above.
