Shirley A. Almonti, 88, of Allentown, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2023. Born December 28, 1934 in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Meyers and Josephine Monte. Shirley was the loving and dedicated wife of the late Roland Almonti.

Shirley and Roland had seven children: Roland Almonti Jr. and wife Donna, Thomas Almonti and wife Cathy, Cheryl (Almonti) and her late husband Marc Sorrentino, Joanne (Almonti) and husband George Douglas, Anthony Almonti, Angelo T. Almonti and wife Jennifer, and Michael Almonti. In addition, Shirley has 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Shirley had two brothers, Leo Boris and Arthur Meyers as well as her sister Jean Marchese, along with several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by sons Roland and Michael, and siblings Arthur and Jean. Everyone that personally knew Shirley knew that she was tough, witty, and to the point. She ruled the household. Her husband and family came first above all else. She was known for her delicious homemade tomato sauce with either her handmade spaghetti or gnocchi. Her food served as a centerpiece for family gatherings big or small, where Shirley would always make sure everyone's needs were met before her own. She is now at rest with God and her husband. She is loved and will be missed.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Reichel Funeral Home, Northampton.
