Rosemarie A. "Tootsie" Grossbauer, 80 of Northampton, passed away on Friday, February 26, 2021 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenburg with her daughters by her side. Born on January 5, 1941 in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late John and Theresa (Sabara) Nemeth. Tootsie was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Edward in 1997. She was a graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School. She was employed in the cafeteria at Northampton High School for over 30 years. Tootsie was a member of Queenship of Mary Catholic Church in Northampton. Tootsie enjoyed spending time with her family and her grandsons were the light of her world.
Survivors: Tootsie is survived by her daughters, Mary Rheiner and husband John, Cathy Smith; grandsons, Johnny, Luke, Eric; brothers, Andrew Nemeth, James Nemeth and many nieces and nephews. Brothers, Joseph, Felix, John and sisters, Anna Hacker, Theresa Yurasits preceded Tootsie in death.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 5 th at 10:30 a.m. in the church, 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton. Those in attendance will kindly be requested to practice social distancing and wear a face cover. The funeral Mass will also be live streamed on the church's YouTube channel. Interment will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Reichel Funeral Home, Northampton. Online condolences may be offered below.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Penn State Thon for fight against childhood cancer at donate.thon.org in loving memory Tootsie.
