Rose D. Grabarits, 86, of Treichlers, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 3, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family and caregiver. Rose and her husband, Vincent J., celebrated 67 years of marriage on September 25 th . Born September 7, 1935, in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late John and Johanna (Wagner) Dischinat. Rose lost her parents at a young age and was adopted by her grandparents, who raised her on the Dischinat farm with her aunts and uncles. She worked as a waitress full-time and part-time throughout her life at various locations, including the Allen House and Holiday Inn. Rose also worked at Western Electric for 28 years as a utility operator and was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a member of Queenship of Mary Church. Rose loved spending time with her family, working with flowers in her yard, walking trails, taking pictures and volunteering at Musikfest for 20 years. She also enjoyed cooking, shopping, and traveling.
In addition to her husband, Rose is survived by her children, Carol Ann Thomason and husband, Keith, Michael and wife, Marianne, and Janet Sforza and husband, Michael; granddaughters, Kristi and Sabrina; step grandchildren, Sarah and Chelsey; step great-grandchildren, Khale, Konnor, Kayden, Breanna, Riley; sister, JoAnn Kern and husband, Robert; aunts, Rose Zastko and Angela Paukovits; and kitties, Benjamin, Miss Katie, Molly and Sweet pea. Rose was predeceased by triplet grandchildren, Jonathan, Joshua, and Lindsay.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 10 th at 10:30 a.m. in the church, 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton. Family and friends may call Thursday night from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21 st St., Northampton, and Friday morning from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. in the church. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be presented to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Michelle's Helping Hands in loving memory of Rose. Online condolences may be offered below.
