Rose H. Almond, 100, of Northampton, passed away peacefully at Weston Nursing Home, on Thursday, February 15, 2024. Born September 21, 1923, in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late Alois J. and Mary (Novogratz) Knopf. She was married to the late William P. Almond, who passed away June 1984. Rose was a member of the Queenship of Mary Church.
Rose began work at an early age for Dr. Charles Fox, Northampton, and then went on to work for Cross Country Clothes until retirement. Rose enjoyed baking, painting ceramics, crochet, and needlepoint, but most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors: sons, William J. Almond (companion, Marie), Michael J. Almond (Bonnie); daughters, Sylvia Genevese, Mary Rose Frantz (Charles); 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by sisters, brothers, daughter-in-law, Barbara, and son-in-law, John Genevese.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 23, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the Queenship of Mary Church, 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery, Northampton.
