Ronald W. “Herm” Spengler, 82, of Northampton, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on September 8, 2026. Born December 28, 1943 in Northampton, he was a son of the late Willard and Dorothy (Jacoby) Spengler. He was the husband of Jane M. Spengler, with whom he celebrated 57 years of marriage. Ronald worked for the former Universal Atlas Cement Co, for 12 years; and later worked for Northampton High School for 26 years until retiring. He was also a council member for the Northampton Borough first ward and President of the council for a while. He was a member of Assumption BVM Church where he worked as a custodian and volunteered wherever he was needed; being Joann’s right-hand-man. He proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam era. Ronald enjoyed going to the casino; and loved spending time with family. 

Survivors: Wife, son, Michael W. Spengler and wife Susan; daughter, Kathleen L. Schaeffer and husband Brett; six grandchildren; and a sister, Nancy Tracy. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard; and a sister, Carol. 

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the Assumption BVM Church, 22nd & Washington Ave., Northampton. Family and friends may call Tuesday 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. in the church. Interment will be in the Parish Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Reichel Funeral Home, Northampton.
