Roland F. Kratzer, Jr., 89, formerly of Northampton, PA, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024, in Forrest Hills Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, Weatherly, PA. Born 1935, in Petersville, PA, he was a son of the late Helen (Zader) and Roland F. Kratzer, Sr. Roland was the husband of the late Dorothy Susan (Kovalchick) Kratzer. He graduated from Northampton High School in 1952. He honorably served in the U.S. Army reserves from 1957 to 1963. He was employed as a first-class repairman for Coplay Cement for 27 years, until retiring in 1997. Roland was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Northampton. He enjoyed the outdoors especially, hunting, fishing and target shooting. He enjoyed spending time at several local rod and gun clubs.

Roland is survived by his son, John Kratzer; brothers, Mahlon Kratzer, Paul Kratzer and wife, Diane; sisters, Betty Watson, Marie Moyer; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a brother, Edward.

Services: A prayer service will be held on Monday, July 15th at 11:00 a.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton. Family and friends may call from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Zion Cemetery, Northampton.
