Obituary

Robert J. (Bobby) Transue, 81, of Pinellas, FL, passed away peacefully in St. Petersburg, FL, on March 22, 2025 in the loving arms of his companion of 15 years, Irene Dillon.

Born in Northampton on March 5, 1944, he was the son of the late Rose (Jurasits) and Robert F. Transue.   He was predeceased by his love of 40 years, Josephine (Jo) Transue, who passed away in 2009.

After bravely serving his country in Korea with the US Army, Bobby returned home to work for Mack Trucks for 10 years.  He then along with Jo brought joy to many of their guests as the proprietors of the former Elmer's Motel in Tannersville, PA and several motels in Florida.

Survivors: Companion; Sisters, Patricia Guignet, Barbara Miller and husband Dale, Rosalind Hill; Aunt, Helen (Jurarists) Lavendoski; Step-daughter, Lore MacNamara; Grandsons who were more like sons, Shane Lindaman and Ryan MacNamara, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Predeceased by wife, parents, and brother-in-law, Reinold Guignet.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 4th at 10:30 a.m. in the church, 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton. Family and friends may call Friday 8:30 – 9:45 a.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery.
