Robert E. Maikits, Sr., 69, of Northampton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill. Robert and his wife, Cindy L. (Getz), celebrated 45 years of marriage on April 17th. Born October 28, 1954, in Fountain Hill, he was a son of the late Stephen J. and Marvyd C. (Bowen) Maikits. Robert honorably served his country in the U.S. Marines. He worked as a truck driver for 45 years until retiring from GHG Logistics, a freight and package transport company, where he worked for the last 10 years of his career.

In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by his sons, Robert Maikits Jr. and fiancée, Heather, and Joseph Getz and wife, Linda; grandchildren, Desiray, Wyatt, Emmalee, Lukas, Alizabeth, and Autumn; 3 great-grandsons; brother, Paul Maikits; and several nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by his daughter, Wendy Silfies, and brother, James.

Services: Family and friends may call on Tuesday, Nov. 21st from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton. A prayer service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment with military honors will take place in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Allentown. Online condolences may be offered below.
