Robert M.
Coleman
Dec 13, 1952 — Jun 8, 2022
Robert Michael Coleman, 69, of Northampton, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2022, at home with his family. Born in Northampton in 1952, he was the oldest son of the late Robert and Mary (Mills) Coleman. He married the love of his life, Donna (Matejicka) "Blondie" as he lovingly referred to her, on June 1st, 1974. They just celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary. Bob was a hard worker with an exceptional work ethic. He started his career at the Coplay Cement, dedicated 20 years at Kraft and after 10 years, retired from the Northampton Borough Municipal Authority. Bob was also honored to spend 14 years as a councilman for the 1st ward, Northampton Borough. Bob was a member of Northampton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4714 and American Legion Post #353. Bob was a devoted Catholic and lifetime member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Bob enjoyed caring for his immaculate yard, helping everyone in his community, a devoted Philadelphia Eagles fan and loyal Philadelphia Phillies fan. His greatest joy, however, was his family, especially being the best Pop Pop to his grandchildren, and many friends. To know Bob was to love him, and so many did.
Along with his wife, Donna, Bob will be lovingly remembered by his two daughters, Christine Coleman and partner Jason Karol of Northampton, Lindsey Coleman and partner Austin Walker of Breinigsville; two grandsons, Quinn and Rory Walker and step-granddaughter, Ava Walker; sister, Maryann Kroon and fiancé Jerome Bankos of Northampton; and very close friend, Tommy Denaro of Northampton. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his brother, David Coleman and In-Laws, Emil Matejicka and Margaret Kent.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 15 th at 10:00 a.m. at Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary, 22 nd and Washington Ave., Northampton. A burial service will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Reichel Funeral Home, Northampton.
