Richard P. Shimko, 70, of Catasauqua, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 11, 2022. He was the husband of the late Cheryl A. (Henry) Shimko. Born July 27, 1951, in Palmerton, he was the son of the late Paul and Genevieve (Wildermuth) Shimko. Richard worked at the New Jersey Zinc Co. in Palmerton for 50 years. He was a member of the Palmerton Borough Council and the West End Fire Co., where he served as past president.

Survivors: daughters, Sherry A., wife of Robert Smale and Jennifer L., wife of Darrell Muthard; son, Donald P. Shimko and wife, Theresa; granddaughters, Destinee, Lindsey, and Samantha; great-granddaughter, Charlotte Grayce; and sister, Paulette, wife of Louie Cebrosky.

Private services are under the direction of Reichel Funeral Home, Northampton.
