Obituary

Richard F. Pany, Sr., 61, of Northampton, passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem. Richard and his loving wife, MaryAnn (Petruccelli), would have celebrated 15 years of marriage on April 17th. Born August 31, 1963, in Allentown, he was the son of Anna Mae (Graboritz) and the late Francis W. Pany. Richard was a 1981 graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School. He was the proud owner of R.F. Pany Landscaping. Richard was a beloved member and President of the Northampton Liederkranz. He had a love for all things outdoors, including traveling, camping, NASCAR, and enjoying beach days. Richard was an avid golfer and bowler. He also loved to hop on the drums every now and then with local bands at the Liederkranz. He was a lifelong Philadelphia fan, especially the Phillies and the Eagles — Go Birds!

In addition to his wife and mother, Richard is survived by his children, Emily (Pany) Pursel and husband, John, Richard F. Pany Jr. and his partner, Patrick, Justina Blasko, Eric Blasko, and Marc Blasko and wife, Maria; grandchildren, Javian, Bryce, Cecilia, Luke, and Sophia; brother, Jack Pany and wife, Tracy; niece, Olivia; and nephew, Nathan.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 31st at 12:00 noon in Queenship of Mary Church, 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton. Family and friends may call on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton, and Friday morning from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. in the church. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be presented to the Northampton Liederkranz in Richard's memory. Online condolences may be offered below.
