Richard D. Nagy, 84, of Northampton, passed away suddenly on Monday, October 5, 2026. Richard and his wife, Barbara (Kantz) Nagy, celebrated 64 years of marriage on September 1st. Born June 14, 1942, in Allentown, he was a son of the late John T. and Theresa A. (Groff) Nagy. Richard was a 1961 graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School. He worked for the Teamsters as a truck driver for many years, but his true passion and life’s work was his farm. He took great pride in the farming legacy he was raised in and was honored to carry it forward throughout his life, continuing that legacy until his passing. 

In addition to his wife, Richard will be deeply missed by his daughter, Tammy Dougherty and husband, Jeff; daughter-in-law, Rachel Nagy; grandchildren, Kenneth Mann and wife, Brittany, Tyler Mann and wife, Meagan, Tiffany Kelly and husband, Matthew, and Evan Dougherty and wife, Marissa; step-grandson, Kyle Miller; great-grandchildren; brother, John A. Nagy and wife, Sandra; sister-in-law, Alice Nagy; nieces and nephews; and beloved dog, Roxy. He was predeceased by his son, Anthony “Tony,” and brother, Thomas. 

Services: A gathering with the family will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 13th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton. A prayer service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
