Obituary

Richard S. Grois, 79, of Macungie, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He and his wife, Dorothy A. (Toth), celebrated 52 years of marriage on June 16. Born on August 2, 1946, in Allentown, he was the son of the late Stanley E. and Mary A. (Terfinko) Grois. Richard graduated from Emmaus High School and worked as an assembler at Mack Trucks, retiring after 39 dedicated years. He proudly and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Richard was a member of St. Ann's Church, Emmaus, and was an active member with the Alburtis Rod & Gun Club, Lyons Fire Co., Mercantile Club in Emmaus, and American Legion Topton Post 217. Richard was always ready to help others anytime day or night; he was "Mr. Handyman" for any household problem. He enjoyed listening to polka music, river cruises through Germany and France, and traveling all through Italy. He cherished his beloved grandchildren, Eli and Lilliana, and grand-puppies, Daisy, Monty, and Rosie.

In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by his sons, David and wife, Jennifer, and Matthew and wife, Alia; grandchildren, Elijah and Lilliana; sister, Patricia Litak and husband, John; five nephews, one niece, one grand-nephew, and three grand-nieces. Richard was predeceased by a son; first puppy, Sparky; and grand-puppy, CJ.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann's Church, 415 S. 6th St., Emmaus. Family and friends may gather on Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. in the church. Interment will follow with military honors at St. Peter Cemetery, Whitehall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be presented to St. Ann's Catholic Church in Richard's memory. Online condolences may be offered below.
