Paul Pristash, 88, of Whitehall, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 8, 2021 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. Born on May 30, 1933, in Northampton, he was a son of the late Fedor and Tanka (Salasky) Pristash. Paul and his wife, Anna C. (Chabon), would have celebrated 63 years of marriage on October 26th. He was employed in public relations for Lincoln Technical Institute for 21 years until his retirement in 2004. Paul also worked as a buyer at Hess's for over 18 years. He honorably served our country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Northampton Veteran of Foreign War Post 4714. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Northampton, where he volunteered with pierogi making and was choir director for many years. Paul and Ann enjoyed time together, especially going out polka dancing. Paul loved spending time gardening and sharing his homegrown crops with family and friends.
Survivors: In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by daughter, Patricia and husband, Robert Aroniss; son, David and wife, Robyn; 5 beautiful grandchildren, Meghan Kish (Ryan), Jessica Metzger (Thomas), Joshua, Drake and Britani Pristash; 3 adorable great-grandchildren, Alexander Kish, Julianna Kish and Maggie Metzger; several nieces and nephews. Paul was predeceased by brothers, Peter, Stephen, John, Jake, and Michael Pristash, and sisters, Margaret Radio, Julia Shara and Helen Pristash, Ann Pristash, Catherine Pristash and Mary McGuire.
Services: A Divine Liturgy will be held on Wednesday, October 13 th at 10:30 a.m. in the church, 1343 Newport Ave., Northampton. Family and friends may call on Wednesday 8:15 – 9:45 a.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21 st St., Northampton. Interment with military honors will follow in the parish cemetery. The family would like to request that facial coverings be worn at all times.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church in loving memory of Paul. Online condolences may be offered below.
