Obituary

Otis A. "Wally" Wallhofer, 81, of Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, and formerly of Allen Township, Northampton County, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2023, in Lehigh Valley Hospice Inpatient Unit surrounded by his loving family. Otis and his wife, Nancy (Strausser), celebrated 56 years of marriage this past June. Otis was born in Allentown, PA on Dec. 23, 1941. He was a son of the late Theodore J. and Cecilia (Goller) Wallhofer. Otis was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Church, Lake Harmony, PA. He was also a former member of Queenship of Mary Church, Northampton, PA and was a Eucharist Minister and served on the Committee for School Choice for the Diocese of Allentown. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army from 1960-1963, spending most of that time in Germany. He was employed at Bethlehem Steel for over 29 years as a machinist in the No. 2 shop. He also served as a union steward for the United Steel Workers of America. Otis loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting with his friends and watching his beloved Phillies and Eagles. He especially enjoyed living in his log home watching the deer, bears, and other animals with his beloved dog, Maggie. His biggest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the American Legion Pocono Pines, PA. He was a life member of Tri-Boro Sportsmen's Club since 1970. He was an officer, manager, and did a lot of construction work on the Tri-Boro property.

Survivors: wife, Nancy A. Wallhofer, daughter, Ann Adams, son, Paul Wallhofer, grandchildren, Corbin and Kyla Adams, and several nieces and nephews. Otis was predeceased by his brother, Theodore H. Wallhofer, and his sisters, Carol Wallhofer, and Alvina Serfass, and a brother-in-law, Tom Serfass.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 26th at 10:30 a.m. in St. Peter the Fisherman Church, 33 Trinity Circle, Lake Harmony, PA. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be presented to Lehigh Valley Hospice Inpatient Unit, 1627 W. Chew St., Allentown, PA 18102, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in loving memory of Otis. Online condolences may be offered below.
