Monica Morekin-Serfas, 78, of Allentown, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026. Monica and her husband, Robert Serfas, celebrated 35 years of marriage together. Born October 10, 1947, in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Elizabeth (Bolha) Morekin. She was a graduate of Whitehall High School. Monica earned a nursing degree from the former Allentown Hospital School of Nursing, where she also began her career. After 30 years as a nursing supervisor, she retired from Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. Monica enjoyed gardening, tennis, and playing the piano. She was a member of St. Thomas More Church, Allentown.

In addition to her husband, Monica is survived by her siblings, Petrina M. Morekin, David C. Morekin and wife, Helen, and Stephen J. Morekin; 7 nieces and nephews; and 14 great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Daniel M. Morekin.

Services: A service will be held on Friday, Feb. 6th at 11:00 a.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton. Family and friends may gather from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery.
