Mary Kachmar, 90, of Northampton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. She was the wife of the late John Kachmar, who passed away in 2021. Born September 8, 1933, in Hokendauqua, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Susanna (Lucas) Harakal. Mary worked in the cafeteria for the Northampton School District. She was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church and Young at Heart Senior Group.

Survivors: daughters, Kathleen Skrapits and her husband, Andrew, and Karen Glassic and her husband, Ronald; grandchildren, Nicole Maisonave and husband, Anibal, Kristen Urbina and husband, Jon, Michael Glassic and wife, Shannon, Brian Skrapits and wife, Elizabeth, and Bethany Skrapits and fiancé, Somar Hanna; great-grandchildren, Raegan, Emery and Viviana Rose. She was predeceased by her brothers, Andrew and John Harakal, and sister, Margaret Yandrisevits.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 7th at 10:30 a.m. in Assumption BVM Church, 22nd St. and Washington Ave., Northampton. Family and friends may gather on Wednesday from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. in the church. Interment will follow in the parish mausoleum.
