Mary Catherine Heffelfinger, 76, of Northampton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of Frank S. Heffelfinger. Born January 30, 1945 in Easton, she was a daughter of the late William David Sr. and Mary Elizabeth (Drissell) Abert. Mary Catherine earned her bachelor's degree from Immaculata University and continued at Kutztown University for her master's degree. She worked as a teacher for 32 years. Mary Catherine was a lector at and member of the Queenship of Mary Catholic Church in Northampton. She also started the Pre-K Religious Education program and taught CCD in the parish.

In addition to her husband, Mary Catherine is survived by her sons, Sean Heffelfinger, MD and his wife, Kathy, and Ryan Heffelfinger, DO and his wife, Courtney Fleming; grandchildren, Evan, Nolan, Simon, and Lauren; brother, William David Jr.; and sister, Patricia Lee Wojtkun. Mary Catherine was predeceased by her brother, John Joseph, and sister, Barbara Ann.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 15 ^th at 10:30 a.m. in Queenship of Mary Church, 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton. Family and friends may call Monday from 9:00 to 10:15 a.m. in the church. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery. We kindly request that those in attendance practice social distancing and wear a face covering.
