Obituary

Mary Louise Christoff, daughter of Antoni and Anna (Brezowska) Guzara, passed away on April 25th at Sacred Heart Senior Living surrounded by her loving daughters, she was 105, 8 months, and 15 days old.  A first generation American, born on August 9th, 1918 in Northampton, PA. Mary survived two global pandemics, WWII, and bore witness to the greatest events of the 20th Century.  Mary married Michael Warren Christoff in 1940 and together they traveled the US in pursuit of Mike's baseball career and raised four daughters.  They were married for 58yrs. Together they owned and operated a beer distributorship in Northampton and Mike's Bar & Hotel in North Coplay.  Mary also worked at Bamberger's & Macy's Department Stores.  Mary's greatest accomplishments, in her opinion, are the four daughters she raised, her 13 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren she had the joy of loving.  In later years, Mary's days were filled with trips to the Lappawinzo in the summer with her young grandchildren, delivering Meals on Wheels, and making pierogis at St. Michael's Church.  She enjoyed many trips with her daughters especially the trip to the Bahamas where she found her palm tree.  Mary never missed an episode of Lawrence Welk and enjoyed keeping up with current events.  Mary will be loved and remembered for her wonderful stories and warm hugs.

Mary is survived by her daughters Patricia (Orndorff) wife of the late Warren Orndorff, Janet (Rutman) wife of the late David Rutman, Maryann (Wimmer) wife of Stanley Wimmer, her son-in-law, Rich Polczynski, her 11 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.  She is predeceased by her husband Michael, her son Lawrence and daughter Louise (Polczynski), her grandchildren Jeff Wimmer, Julie Rutman and her great grandson Caleb Pearson.
