Marie R.
Wallach
d. Oct 28, 2024
Marie Reichl Wallach, 89, passed away peacefully on Monday, Oct. 28, 2024, at St. Luke's Hospital Allentown Campus. Born in Coplay, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Toth) Kiss. Marie graduated from Northampton High School in 1952, where she was a proud member of the band front, swinging her rifle at football games and in parades. Marie's future husband, Frank J. Reichl, served as an infantryman in the Korean War, where he was taken prisoner and held as a POW for over 33 months. He returned to Coplay to a hero's welcome and a "Coming Home" parade, where he would meet Marie. Together they enjoyed raising their two children, dancing, cheering on the ACCHS basketball team, being advisors to the OLH BSA Explorer troop and taking vacations in Wildwood, NJ – every July with their children and every September with best friends, Priscilla and Ron Koch. Frank died in 1985. Several years later, Marie married Theodore "Ted" Wallach. She retired from Western Electric/Lucent. Marie and Ted loved dancing every weekend, wintering in Florida and traveling to Hawaii, Alaska & Yellowstone. They moved to Orefield to be even closer to her family. Ted died in 2012. Marie was a wonderful mother to her two children and delighted in being a grandmother and great-grandmother. She was loving, fun and known for baking delicious Kiffles, especially apricot, her son-in-law's favorite. Marie was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church in Orefield, PA. Until this most recent illness, Marie enjoyed living her life playing bingo and trivia games and doing her Word Search puzzles at Country Meadows Allentown. She will be deeply missed by her family & friends.
