Marie E.
Kozero
Sep 22, 1941 — Feb 21, 2024
Marie E. Kozero, 82, of Northampton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late John A. Kozero Jr. Born September 22, 1941, in Palmerton Hospital, she was the daughter of the late Jennie (Cutrone) and Herbert C. Huber, who raised her early on in Jim Thorpe. Marie first worked for Zollinger & Harned Co. and Hess's Department Store. After she married, Marie stayed home a few years to raise her children until school age. Then, she went back to work as a seamstress for Tama Manufacturing. Later, she worked at A & D Fashions in Bath and ended with her last 14 years as a bus driver for Northampton School District; she really enjoyed her students. Marie was a member of the former St. Michael's Church until it merged with Queenship of Mary Church. She loved volunteering for the church, especially taking pierogi orders and helping make them too. She also served as President of the Ladies Rosary Sodality at St. Michael's Church in Northampton and served as Regent of the 4th degree Ladies Auxiliary Knights of Columbus in Allentown, PA. The greatest of Marie's joys, beyond her family, was watching her birds and wildlife in the backyard, sports, especially Phillies Baseball, her Eagle's Football, and her Flyers' Hockey. She also loved to fish, both deep sea and lake, and hunt. She was a good shot and quite the archer in her day!
Marie is survived by her children, Donna McCorkle, wife of John D. McCorkle Jr., Mark Kozero and wife, Liza, Thomas Kozero, and Cynthia Holihan, wife of Michael Holihan; grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Amanda, Daniel, Mike Jr., Megan, Aiden, John Wayne, and Lauren Ashley; 10 great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.
