Obituary

Lars William Knauss, 85, of Northampton, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Fellowship Manor, Whitehall. He was the husband of Theresa "Teddy" (Skrapits) Knauss, who survives at home. Lars was born on September 17, 1940, in Allentown but grew up in Wilson Boro. He was a son of the late Harrison W.F. and Dorothy (Deiter) Knauss. He graduated from Wilson Boro High School in 1959. He met Theresa at Nazareth Speedway and married her in May 1962. Lars worked at Branch Motor Express Co. for 21 years as a dispatcher and assistant terminal manager until they closed in August 1984. He then worked for various companies, including AT&T, Ryder P.T.E Trucking, and Central Transport. He enjoyed working with his son completing woodworking jobs. Whenever anyone needed help, Lars was always there willing to step in to take care of their needs. In his early years, he spent time with his friends going to stock car races at the dirt track in Nazareth. Lars enjoyed bowling, fishing, and car racing. Since 1976, he and his family have spent many summers camping at the beach and the mountains with friends. In later years, Lars and Teddy spent much of their time in the summer in Delaware camping. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending their activities and sporting events, often traveling a distance to avidly cheer for them. He really enjoyed playing miniature golf each summer with the grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Lars is survived by his daughter, Justine Gibble and husband, Kurt; son, David and wife, Linda; loving grandchildren, Kristin Galli (Steven), Brittany Knauss, Bradley Gibble, and Ashley Knauss; great-granddaughter, Lily Galli; brother, Harrison R. Knauss.
