**Kim Joel Davis**, 72, of Northampton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg. Born on July 3, 1952, in East Stroudsburg, he was the beloved son of the late Gilbert and Norma (Edwards) Davis.

Kim was a proud graduate of Northampton High School, class of 1970, where he excelled in football, basketball, baseball, and track. His passion for sports and education guided him through a distinguished career as a dedicated high school teacher and coach at Northampton for over 30 years, most recently coaching boy's and girl's tennis. Throughout his tenure, Kim made a lasting impact on countless students, advocating especially for those with special needs. He played a pivotal role in developing the Peer Helper program and served as an advisor for several student organizations, including Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD), the National Honor Society, and the Powder Puff games.

In addition to his role as a teacher, Kim was deeply involved in the Northampton Athletic Association (NAA), where he coached football and was instrumental in organizing and running the NAA youth basketball league for many years. Kim's dedication to his community extended beyond the classroom and the field. He was the iconic voice of the Lehigh Valley SteelHawks and frequently announced a variety of Northampton High School athletic events, a role he loved and cherished.

Outside of his professional life, Kim was known for his strong work ethic and love for simple joys. He found great peace working at Silver Creek Country Club, mowing the greens and fairways, and spent many years employed at Bethlehem Steel. A devoted family man, Kim cherished taking his family on vacations, particularly to the beach, where they created countless memories together.

Kim's love for animals was well-known to those closest to him. He had a special bond with his "grand pups" Memphis, Maddy, Sophie, Harper, Zarah, Benny, and Kalea, and when they weren't around, he took joy in caring for "Momma Cat," a stray who found a home in his backyard.

Kim is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Kathleen (Gabryluk) Davis, and their four children: Melissa Davis, Kyle Davis (and wife Katie), Julie Giordano (and husband Thomas), and Ashley Davis (and husband Ryan). His sister Sindee (Davis) Funk. He also leaves behind three cherished grandchildren, Lyla and Luci Schneck, and Lana Giordano, who brought endless joy to his life.

Kim's impact on his family, friends, students, and community will be remembered and treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, dedication, and love will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
