Obituary

Joseph Sipics, 70, of Northampton passed away on April 22, 2024 at home. Born February 2, 1954, he was the proud son of the late Iggy and Mary Sipics. Joe attended Our Lady of Hungary Elementary school, Allentown Central Catholic High School, DeSales University, and Allentown Business School. Shortly after graduation, he was offered a job and ultimately employed at Air Products and Chemicals in the Trexlertown, PA corporate offices where he managed to carve out a fruitful career spanning 46 years – mostly in project engineering. Joe was grateful for getting the opportunity to work for APCI, and enjoyed the people and challenges the job presented. Inheriting good genes from his parents, he never missed a day in the office due to illness (his father also had a perfect attendance record during his 40-year stint at the former Martin Marietta Cement Company in Northampton). Family was always a priority for Joe and that interaction is what he enjoyed most. Joe enjoyed playing and following sports and was a dedicated fan of Notre Dame athletics and Yankees baseball. As a lifelong Catholic, Joe attended Church services regularly throughout his life and tried his best to practice his Faith. According to Joe "though practice never made perfect – I tried!". Survivors: brothers, James (Bonnie) and Stephen; and a sister, Mary Jean (Bill); sister-in-law Diane; and many loving nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by his parents and a brother, John. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in Queenship of Mary Church, 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton. Family and friends may call Monday from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. in the church. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Reichel Funeral Home, Northampton. Online condolences may be submitted to www.reichelfuneralhome.com. Contributions: Memorials may be made to the church in Joe's memory.
