Joseph J. Henits, 93, of Danielsville passed away peacefully on his 70th wedding anniversary surrounded by his wife and loving family. Joseph was the husband of Frances (Bolognia) Henits. Born December 26, 1923 in Northampton, he was the son of the late Stephen and Elizabeth (Geosits) Henits.

He worked at Martin Marietta for over 35 years. Joseph honorably served his country in the United States Army during WW II. He was a member of Queenship of Mary Church.

Survivors: wife, Frances; daughter, Joanne C., wife of Frank Repyneck of Jim Thorpe; son, Joseph P. Henits of Danielsville; sister, Bette, wife of David Sorrentino of Cementon; 2 grandsons, Erik and Ethan; 3 great grandchildren, Leo, Joey and Ellie. Joseph was predeceased by 7 brothers, John, Ernest, Alfred, Stephen, Frank, Louis and Anthony and 3 sisters, Mary Flagg, Theresa Nemeth and Rose Morris.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, May 22nd at 11:00 a.m. in Queenship of Mary Church, 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton. Family and friends may call Monday 9 - 10:30 a.m. in Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton. Burial with military honors will follow in the Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery.
