Joseph P. Falatek, Jr. 77, of Lakeland, FL, formerly of Northampton, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024. Born March 21, 1947 in Fountain Hill, he was a son of the late Olga H. (Hutnick) and Joseph P. Falatek, Sr. Joseph honorably served our country in the US Army in Vietnam. He was a former member of BVM Catholic Church, Northampton. While living in Northampton, he worked as a branch manager for Wells Fargo Bank. After moving to Lakeland, Florida in 2006 with his partner Nancy Bates, he worked for the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity in Polk County as a Counselor and was employed as the official scorekeeper of the Lakeland Flying Tigers Baseball team, single A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. He was a member of the VFW in Lakeland, FL, serving as Quarter Master, and the American Legion in Northampton and Coplay. Joseph enjoyed sports, especially supporting and attending Northampton High School and Lehigh University sports. He coached on the American Legion Baseball team in Coplay for several years.

Survivors: Brother, Gregory R.  Falatek and wife Jeannine; and a nephew Gregory J. Falatek.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 18th at 10:00 a.m. in Assumption BVM Church, 22nd & Washington Ave., Northampton. Family and friends may call on Monday the 18th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the church. Interment will be in St. John's the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Northampton.
