John F. "Buzz" Yurasits, 92 of Northampton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg. Born on June 18, 1932 in Northampton, he was a son of the late John and Anna (Kopfensteiner) Yurasits. John and his wife, Mary (Stutzenberger) celebrated 71 years of marriage together. He was a graduate of Northampton High School and earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Lafayette College. He was employed as a chief engineer in the cement industry for over 30 years. John honorably served our country in the US Army. He was a member of Queenship of Mary Catholic Church in Northampton. John was also a member of the Catholic War Veterans Post 454, life member of the Allen Township Fire Co. and St. Peter and Paul Society. He was known as "Buzz" for his love and passion of aviation.

Survivors: In addition to his wife, John is survived by children, Lorene Kahler and husband Randy, Rochelle Reice and husband Richard, Sharon Urbanczuk and husband Roman, Gary Yurasits and wife Sherri; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 1 nephew and 3 nieces. A son, John, 2 grandchildren, sisters, Ann Stimpfl, Helen Paul, Theresa Erkinger and a nephew preceded John in death.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 2nd at 10:30 a.m. in the church, 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 9:15 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. in the church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
