John A. Velekei, 73, formerly of Whitehall, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. He was the husband of the late Anette E. (Alban) Velekei, who passed away in 2023. Born July 31, 1951, in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late John J. and Helen (Zolnierzak) Velekei. John worked as an IT director for many years. He was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church.

Survivors: daughters, Janelle Velekei, Alyssa Lada and husband, Brian, and Katie Velekei and husband, Robert Phillips; 5 granddaughters; siblings, Dolores Johnson and husband William Johnson, Frank Velekei, James Velekei, and Theresa Lawhead; and many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by five siblings.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 22nd at 10:00 a.m. in St. Peter Church, 4 So. 5th St., Coplay. Family and friends may gather on Wednesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass in the church. Interment will be private.
