John R. “Jack” Sickonic, 64, of Northampton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at home surrounded by his loving family. Jack and his wife, Denise M. (Mall) Sickonic, celebrated 21 years of marriage. Born March 18, 1962, in Fort Worth, TX, he was a son of Jean B. (Santee) Sickonic and the late Robert J. Sickonic. Jack graduated from Northampton High School in 1980. He proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Air Force as a Sergeant, working on F-15 fighter aircraft during Operation Desert Storm. Following his military service, Jack worked for the City of Bethlehem as a stormwater design assistant, a position from which he eventually retired. Jack had many interests and hobbies that brought him great joy. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, gardening, and building model airplanes and cars. He especially enjoyed spending time with his buddies in the woods, sharing good times and enjoying the outdoors. Jack also enjoyed attending flea markets and visiting wineries throughout the Lehigh Valley. His love of wine and craftsmanship even inspired him to try his hand at brewing his own craft beers.
In addition to his mother and wife, Jack is survived by his children, Sarah Tuck (Ty), Jenell Wilbanks (Bruce), and Brian J. Schlener Jr. (Katie); grandchildren, Jasmine, Alexis, Madison, and Ella; siblings, Kathleen Spear (Katt), Daniel Sickonic (Patti), and James Sickonic (Mariann); and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services: A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 7th at 10:30 a.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton.
