Obituary

John M. Kulchinsky, 56, of Lehigh Township, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 5, 2026, at St. Luke's Hospital. Born on July 16, 1970 in Allentown, John was the beloved son of Mary Lou Kulchinsky and Stanley Kulchinsky, and is remembered for his infectious humor and unwavering devotion to the sports teams he cherished.

Affectionately known as Uncle, Ski, Moose, and John Mike, his wicked sense of humor was legendary among friends and family alike, and he had an incredible talent for bringing a smile to the face of anyone in his presence. Those who knew him well were familiar with his fierce allegiance to the Dallas Cowboys, the New York Yankees, the Los Angeles Lakers and University of Michigan Wolverines.

John's love for sports extended beyond spectating. He was an avid golfer, finding peace and challenge on the greens, and his talent for darts was matched only by his competitive spirit and good-natured rivalry with friends and family. Whether on the course, in a game of darts, or cheering from the stands, John's enthusiasm was contagious.

A 1988 graduate of Northampton High School, John worked for S&S Lawn Care for many years. He was a member of the Coplay Saengerbund and Hungarian Hall, and also frequented the Alliance Fire Company and was a regular at the Whitetail Golf Course, where the staff all knew and loved him.

He leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory. His parents, Mary Lou Kulchinsky and Stanley Kulchinsky (Susan), find solace in the legacy of laughter and love he leaves behind. John is also survived by his three sisters, Lori (Richard) Bass, Alisa (Steven) Muir, and Leslie (Michael) Kemmerer. He adored his nieces and nephews, Richie, Daniel, Katie, Jared, Alaina, and Rachel, and they adored him in return. John's extended family, including aunts, an uncle, cousins, his many close friends, and his cherished pet Kobe Bean, will miss him dearly.

John was predeceased by his beloved niece Kendall Muir and nephew Matthew Muir, whom he held close in his heart.

Services: Family and friends may gather Wednesday, October 14th from 6:00-9:00 pm at Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st Street, Northampton. A memorial service will follow at 9:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, John's family kindly suggests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, honoring the generous spirit with which he lived his life.
