Joanne J. Yanek, 83 of North Catasauqua, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, July 12, 2025, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Kovacs) Hochella. Joanne and her late husband John celebrated 45 years of marriage together before his passing. She was employed as an eye glass consultant with Dr. Harakal in North Catasauqua for many years. In addition, she worked as a secretary for Bethlehem Steel and the Catasauqua Area School District. Joanne was very faithful and a member of St. John Fisher Catholic Church in North Catasauqua. Joanne was an avid bingo, bunco and weekly bridge player. She enjoyed trivia, watching the Game Show Network and reading Danielle Steel novels. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and participating in all their activities.

Survivors: sons, John Joseph and wife Jacqueline, Joseph and wife Ann Marie; grandchildren, Ashley and husband Jeff, Matthew and wife Addie, Jada; great grandchildren, Jaxon, Hadley, with an expected two additional great grandchildren on the way, and a brother-in-law, Dennis Yanek and wife Sandra.

Services: Funeral services will be private. Arrangements are under the care of the Reichel Funeral Home, Northampton. Online condolences may be offered below.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in loving memory of Joanne.
