Obituary

Jerome S. Miranda, 77, of Northampton passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020 in St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill. Born on September 2, 1943 in Nesquehoning, PA he was a son of the late Samuel and Christina (Dolinsky) Miranda. Jerome was preceded in death by his loving wife, Theresa A. (Giglotti) in 2018; and a son, Jerome Jr., who passed away on Christmas Day 1980.

He was employed as a manager with General Electric for many years. Jerome honorably served our country in the United States Air Force. He was a member of Queenship of Mary Catholic Church in Northampton. He was a devout Catholic, very dedicated to his faith and parish and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4050, Catholic War Vets, and Men of Malvern.  He was also a retired college football official and was inducted into the Carbon County Sports Hall of Fame.

Survivors: Jerome is survived by his daughters, Kristine Sodl and husband Christopher; Kara Stianche and husband Michael; Monica Pangaio and husband Antonio; grandchildren, Michael and wife Emma Jo Stianche, Mia Stianche, Matthew Stianche, Mikayla Miranda, Brenna Pangaio, Alexandra Pangaio and a great-grandson, Ethan Stianche.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 30 th at 10:30 a.m. in the church, 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton. Those in attendance will kindly be asked to practice social distancing and wear a face cover. The funeral Mass will also be available via live stream on the church's YouTube channel. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Nesquehoning. Arrangements are under the direction of the Reichel Funeral Home, Northampton.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church in loving memory of Jerome.
