Irene (Reszetar) Schall , 87, of Walnutport, passed away peacefully at Bethlehem Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on February 21, 2025. Born December 14, 1937 in Ormrod, she was the daughter of the late Josephat and Nancy (Muzyka) Reszetar. She was the wife of the late Melvin D. Schall. Irene was a waitress for several diners throughout the Lehigh Valley for over 55 years, in addition, she was a Nurses Aid for Cedarbrook Nursing Home. Irene was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Northampton. Irene enjoyed using her artistic talents, including making beautiful Pysanky (Ukrainian) Easter Eggs, drawing, knitting, crocheting, traveling, and going to casinos. She was an avid reader, loved puzzles, board games, playing cards, bingo and loved to host parties. She cared deeply for family, friends, and animals.
She is survived by her children, Melvin Schall and wife Cynthia, Brenda Jo Verenna, James Schall and wife Geanine, Gary Schall and wife Karen, Robert Schall and wife Celeste; grandchildren, Veronica, Thomas, James, Melvin Jr., Amanda and Lauren; great-grandchildren, Scarlett, Michelle, JP, Nora, and Zachary; a sister Nancy Haseltine and husband Reginald; nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sisters, Mary Bauer, Catherine Gabryluk, Pauline Newhart, Olga Tarafas; brothers, John and Stephen Reszetar.
A Divine Liturgy will be held on Saturday, March 1st at 1:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1343 Newport Ave., Northampton. Family and friends may call on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. at the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery.
