Howard R. Hoffert, 83, of Allentown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown. Howard and his wife, Audrey F. (Jacoby), celebrated 59 years of marriage on December 14th. Born September 25, 1939, in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Howard W. and Evaline (Harnish) Hoffert. Howard worked as a systems technician at the former Bell Telephone Co. for 42 years. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. In addition to his wife, Howard is survived by his sons, Scott and Gary, and grandchildren, Meghan and Jillian. Howie enjoyed participating in softball, bowling, and golf leagues. He also spent many years camping as part of the 'Adventurers' family camping club and was happy to have a chat about his little Airstream with any passerby. Everyone knew him as Mr. Fixit and he continued to be so even in his memory care unit. He would gladly offer his help to anyone right up until the end.

Services: A prayer service will be held on Thursday, July 20th at 10:00 a.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton. Family and friends may gather Thursday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Northampton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be presented to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of one's choice in loving memory of Howard. Online condolences may be offered below.
