Obituary

Helen Harbowy, 98, of Whitehall, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at home. Born April 15, 1924, in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Nicholas and Eva (Struss) Krowitz. Helen was adopted and raised by John and Anna (Kashetska) Harbowy. She worked at the former Clyde Shirt as a machine operator and retired in 1986 after 46 years. Helen was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church. She loved gardening and her beloved cat, Finnegan.

Survivors: son, Dennis; and Finnegan the cat. Helen was predeceased by sisters, Mary Child, Sophie Lantz, Anna Betlow, Victoria Turczyn, and Kathryn Krowitz, and brothers, Merasla Krowitz, John Krowitz, Mike Krowitz, Stanley Krowitz, Edward Krowitz and Charles Krowitz.

Services: A Divine Liturgy will be held on Saturday, May 21 st at 10:00 a.m. in the church, 1343 Newport Ave., Northampton. Family and friends may call Saturday morning from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21 st St., Northampton. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be presented to Peaceable Kingdom, Inc., 1049 MacArthur Rd., Whitehall, PA 18052 in loving memory of Helen. Online condolences may be offered below.
