Gregory R. "Pappy" Bachman, 76, died unexpectedly at home on June 27, 2023. He was the beloved husband of the late Suzanne (Heffner) Bachman, who died in 2007.

Born in Allentown, January 9, 1947, Greg was the son of the late Stewart and Arlene (Marushak) Bachman. Prior to his retirement from the Bethlehem Steel in 1997, he worked as a chainman and later for Kraft Foods.

A lifelong Philadelphia sports fan, this year he developed increased patience as he witnessed the performance of his favorite teams. He spent his time working on his home in preparation for an upcoming move to York; visiting with his friends, whom he appreciated and loved dearly; tending to his pets; and walking along the Lehigh canal.

Survivors: Stepson Matthew Nowik (Christine) of York who loved him like a father; grandson Austin of York with girlfriend Mikayleigh; sister Dianne Roberts (Bill) of Sarasota, FL; brother Stewart (Terri) of Lexington, SC; niece Cara Roberts and nephew Matt Roberts.
