Gerald R. "Chirp" Reenock, 92, of Coplay, passed away suddenly on Friday, February 23, 2024, at home. He was the loving husband of Tessie C. (Farkas). They celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary on Feb. 19th. Born February 28, 1931, in Northampton, he was a son of the late Stephen and Katherine (Kyra) Reenock. Gerry worked at Bethlehem Steel and retired early after 41 years of service. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Gerry was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, where he volunteered every week making pierogies. Gerry was active with many local clubs, especially the St. Peter & Paul Hungarian Society and St. Nick's Ukrainian Association. He was an avid bowler that rolled a perfect 300.
Gerry is survived by his wife and daughters, Gail Gage and husband, Don, Sandra Miller and husband, Terry, Stephanie Motsko and husband, James, Andrea Giltner and husband, Thomas; grandchildren, Jenn, Jamie, Jeremy, Matthew, Jade, Kalei, and Thomas; great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Paisley; brother, Thomas Reenock; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, David and Richard Sr., and sister, Rosemarie.
Services: Divine Liturgy will be held on Friday, March 1st at 10:30 a.m. in the church, 1343 Newport Ave., Northampton. Family and friends may call Friday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. in the church. Interment with military honors will follow in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in loving memory of Gerry may be made to the church. Online condolences may be offered below.
