Gerald M. Nero Sr., 78, of Cementon, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 3, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born June 30, 1942 in Cementon, he was the son of Alice (Haberern) and the late John "Jeddo" Nero. Jerry was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, and conservationist. He worked at the Atlas Cement Co. for many years. Prior to his retirement, he worked at the former J.T. Baker Chemical in Phillipsburg, NJ. Jerry was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Whitehall. A lifelong resident of Cementon, he dedicated his life to volunteering and believed in leading by example. This was demonstrated through his involvement in many clubs and organizations. He was a life member of Northampton Racoon Club, North American Hunting Club, and Kunkletown Rod & Gun Club. Jerry was also a member of the Grouse Hall Fish & Game and the NRA. He was a past president of Eldred Beagle Club. Jerry was a dedicated life member of Laurel Fire Co. and served as a past president. For 58 years, he was also a Whitehall township volunteer fire fighter.

In addition to his mother, Jerry is survived by his children, Dr. Natalie Daniels, Noreen Molchany, and Gerald M. Jr. and his wife, Susan; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Linda Heffner and husband, Greg, Carol Szoke, and Janice Fetchko and husband, Mike; many neices and nephews.

Services: Family and friends may call Friday, May 7 ^th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21 ^st St., Northampton. Those in attendance will kindly be requested to practice social distancing and wear a face cover. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be presented to Laurel Fire Co., 5114 3rd St., Whitehall in loving memory of Gerald. Online condolences may be offered above.
