Obituary

George J. Stubits, Jr., 68 of Northampton, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. Born on November 6, 1957, he was a son of the late George and Betty (Haldeman) Stubits, Sr. George was a graduate of Northampton High School, class of 1975. George honorably served our country in the U.S. Air Force from 1975-1978. He was a member of the Plumbers Union Local 690. George was an avid fisherman, hunter and motorcyclist. He traveled to many events including Sturgis, Daytona, and Laconia. In his younger years he loved attending local racetracks and helping pit crews.  George was famously known for playing Santa at various events, especially in the Jack Frost Parade atop a firetruck for the past several years. He was a supporter of Breast Cancer Awareness and would dye his beard pink in support. George loved his nieces and nephews and would support them at their sporting events locally and afar.

Survivors: sister, Lillian Fenstermaker; brothers, John Stubits, Matthew Stubits and wife Kelly; 7 nieces and nephews; Earl R. Fenstermaker Jr and wife Somarie, BobbieJo Slack and husband Brian, Cory Fenstermaker and wife Samantha, Joshua Stubits, Zebariah Stubits, Tonya Huber and husband Zach, Tamara Stubits; 10 great nieces and nephews and a great great niece. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Earl R. Fenstermaker Sr.

Services: A celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 24th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton.
