Obituary

Gary P. Renner, 83, of Northampton, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Theresa M. (Marakovits), who passed away on January 24, 2021. Born February 3, 1938 in Allentown, he was the son of the late Walter and Violet (Herzog) Smith. He worked as a computer programmer for the former Western Electric. Gary honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a faithful member of Queenship of Mary Church. Gary and Theresa were regularly at Mass in their pew located in the front left section of the church. Gary was very charismatic and will be most remembered by friends for his sense of humor. He managed to make everyone laugh who he met. He made you feel comfortable. It was easy to meet him once and feel like you knew him for years. He enjoyed trips to the mountains in Gouldsboro with family, playing cards and trips to the casino with Theresa. He will be remembered by his family for the love he shared with them, especially his wife, Theresa, whom he sacrificed for until the end. Once she passed, unbeknownst to family, he started his journey to reunite with her. He ALWAYS put her and family first no matter what the cost.

Survivors: sons, Michael J. and his wife, Evelyn, and Matthew J. and his wife, Barbara; grandchildren, Meghan, Noah, and Evan; and niece, Linda Wallitsch. Gary was predeceased by his sister, Leatrice Wallitsch.
